The man who runs the Cats will now also oversee Barwon Health.
Brian Cook will take over as chair of the health service on Saturday following the retirement of Dr John Stekelenberg.
Mr Cook would serve a three-year term in his first appointment to the Barwon Health board, the State Government announced this week.
The government noted Mr Cook’s performance as Cats chief executive officer over the past 18 years, including three premierships and the $200 million redevelopment of Simonds Stadium.
