Geelong’s community hospice has paid tribute to its outgoing director while welcoming new board members at a special dinner.
Anam Cara House chairman and founding ambassador Lloyd Gosling stepped down with directors Kevin Costa and Maria Hamilton amid praise from staff and supporters of the hospice.
Patron Frank Costa, ambassador Bob Gartland and new Chairwoman Diana Taylor helped celebrate the outgoing directors’ “huge contributions” as volunteers with the not-for-profit facility, said a spokesperson for Anam Cara House.
The evening, at Geelong West’s Tulip Restaurant, also celebrated “recent good news” for the future of the hospice, the spokesperson said.
“The organisation recently received a $5 million bipartisan federal funding commitment toward the building of a new Geelong hospice facility and has also enjoyed enormous generosity from the public for its first annual giving appeal, which has raised $60,165 to date.”
