THIRTEEN Geelong girls will compete in a 2012 Australian Hip Hop Championships in Melbourne next week.
The DIVA’S team of 14 to 19-year-olds will compete in preliminary finals of fifth annual championships on July 7.
Team member Georgia Badham said DIVA’s was thrilled to reach the finals.
“We can’t wait,” she said.
“Although we’re very nervous we’re also very excited.”
Team coach Kirralee Badham said she trained DIVA’s as part of Cheerleading Geelong classes.
“They love being apart of the group because it’s lots of fun and they love the costumes,” Ms Badham said.
“Hip-hop is one of the most modern dance styles and therefore very popular around Australia.”
Ms Badham said DIVAS had competed in competitions around Australia, including “Aussie Gold Internationals” in Queensland.
Tickets to support the team at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre are available at the door or through Moshtix, she said.
