Music legends Joe Camilleri, Richard Clapton, Russell Morris and Leo Sayer will join forces on stage in Geelong this weekend.
The four music icons have come together for an APIA Good Times Tour, concluding at Geelong’s waterfront Costa Hall this Saturday.
Englishman Sayer, who’s series of international hits in the ‘70s included Long Tall Glasses and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, said the Good Times tour had been living up to its name.
“It’s a party every night. It goes bananas,” he told the Independent.
Sayer said the four stars had become close friends despite never previously playing together.
“Sometimes you can be lumped in with other artists and someone feels like they should be the headliner but we’re all even Stevens about it and we’re happy to just be working together.”
Sayer said each performer sung some of their hits, such as Camilleri with Hit and Run, Clapton with Girls on the Avenue and Morris with The Real Thing.
They then joined forces for the show’s finale, he said.
“Everyone up there’s proving that we’re still as alive as ever, even at our age.”
Sayer hinted the tour’s Geelong finale might not mark the end of the foursome performing together.
“I think we’re going to do some more stuff – it’s sounding that good,” he said.
“We might even get in the studio together, maybe Day on the Green or something – I hope so.”
