There is good news, and there is more good news from Barwon Medical Imaging.
The service is now boasting the arrival of not one but two of the world’s best MRI scanners.
And the scanners are definitely the newest of their kind in the Geelong region.
And the good news continues with the service announcing an expansion of its ultrasound services. Building work is due to begin next year on a new ultrasound department which will improve capacity and reduce waiting lists.
BMI already offers bulk billing on all services provided they are Medicare reimbursable.
BMI Operations Manager Jeff Umbers is clear that the aim of the service is to offer equitable access to everyone in the community.
“We want people to know about the services that we can offer here and certainly we want them to know where we are offering a more affordable alternative for them,” Jeff says.
“We provide world class services to the Barwon region. We specialise in the application of medical imaging in both diagnosis and treatment to improve outcomes for all.”
Those services include X-rays, ultra sounds, mammography, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging. BMI also has a strong commitment to teaching and research.
“We focus on providing the best possible experience by ensuring the right imaging service, at the right time, to the right people.
“We prioritise by clinical urgency, while ensuring we provide a high quality imaging service for all in the community,” Jeff says.
“We are continuously evolving our service and innovating to meet new demands, technologies and the changes in healthcare and in our community.”
