Dylan’s Radar finds success in celebrity news

Geelong’s Dylan Howard could be forgiven a wry smile in his New York office.
Less than five years ago he lost his job in Melbourne as an ambitious television sports reporter after the AFL turned on him for revealing alleged drug use among players.
Now, as the latest edition of Geelong Coast magazine (GC) reveals, he’s senior executive editor at Radar Online, one of the world’s biggest celebrity gossip sites.
Along the way he’s been challenged to drink Charlie Sheen’s urine, argued with Lindsay Lohan and dealt with just about every star of any note in the US and beyond.
His Phoenix-like reinvention has taken him to a world of scope and opportunity far beyond the narrow boundaries of the code that sought his undoing.
An audience in the millions, prestigious industry awards and a future of fortune are his reward.
“It’s a very exciting time,” the former Western Heights College student tells GC with understatement.
The winter edition of GC features 92 glossy pages full of local stories and images by the region’s best writers and photographers.
GC is available now at all good local newsagents.
