POLICE have a quick-thinking member of the public to thank after they picked up a drink-driver who blew nearly five times over the limit in Bannockburn yesterday.
A woman called police after she saw an intoxicated woman leave a supermarket on High Street shortly before 2.50pm and get into a vehicle with a female friend.
Bannockburn police attended and saw the woman, then followed her along the High Street service road before intercepting her vehicle.
After recording a positive preliminary breath test, she was conveyed back to the local police station where she recorded a reading of 0.229 per cent on an evidentiary breath test.
The 43-year-old Inverleigh woman lost her licence on the spot and will charged on summons with traffic offences.
