‘King’ returns for GPAC gig

Adelaide’s Mark Anthony has won Elvis awards from Memphis to Vegas, from Canada to Collingwood, and next weekend he performs as the King in Geelong.

As a young boy Anthony became obsessed with Elvis, immersing himself in his mannerisms and style.

He discovered he had a talent for mimicking the King and became an impersonator in 2004.

Anthony won the South Pacific Ultimate Elvis Grand Champion in 2007, which set him on a path to Memphis for the world final.

In 2010 he won Elvis competitions in Toronto and Vegas thanks to his looks and moves, and he has since toured across the US, Canada, Malaysia, and Europe.

Next Saturday he brings his latest show, Elvis – The King in Concert, to Geelong Performing Arts Centre.

The show “exudes the raw energy and true essence of The King Of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” his promoter said.

“His spot-on mannerisms, looks, voice and moves, allows you to get as close as possible to seeing the King himself,” the promoter said.

“Mark’s stage presence, incredible vocal ability and authentic costuming, is backed by his amazing and energetic band.”

Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland recognise Mark Anthony as one of the top Professional Elvis Tributes in the world to date, his promoter said.
