Woman stabbed in theft attempt

Police are hunting an armed robber who allegedly stabbed a woman in Torquay last Wednesday.
A man approached a woman in a car park on Bristol Road at about 9pm on 22 February, grabbing her and demanding her car keys.
While trying to fend off the man, she was stabbed in the lower back with a sharp object. The man was last seen running towards Zeally Bay Road.
Torquay Criminal Investigation Unit detectives this week released a computer-generated image of a man they wish to speak to (pictured) and images from security camera footage.
The man is described as being between 19 to 23 years of age, about 170cm tall, with blonde collar length hair and tanned skin.
He was wearing dark blue shorts and no shirt.
Investigators believe he may have been part of a larger group of men who were consuming alcohol earlier in the day on Torquay Beach opposite Gilbert Street.
Policed urged anyone who recognised the man or with any information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
