Lara ambulance drugs stolen

Police are investigating the theft of a quantity of drugs from an ambulance branch in Lara last week.

Police said the thieves gained entry to the Mill Road premises some time between 1.15am and 7.40am on Tuesday 19 November.

A quantity of prescription drugs including fentanyl, morphine, midazolam, and methoxyflurane were stolen.

No other damage was done to the premises.

Police are concerned the drugs can be lethal if the incorrect dose is taken. There have also been reported cases of serious medical complications by people using the drugs.

Geelong police are investigating the incident and keen to hear from anyone who has knowledge of the burglary or those involved.
