Thieves punched and kicked a teenager in a Torquay robbery this weekend, according to police reports.
Crime Investigation Unit detectives alleged the robbery occurred when a 17-year-old Torquay boy was walking home along Inshore Drive, just after 11.30pm.
Police believe three males approached the boy and one of them, wearing a hooded top and baseball cap, said “Oi mate” before punching him to the face.
The victim fell to the ground where the alleged offenders kicked him a number of times, police said.
The males demanded his possessions and stole his wallet, phone and backpack before leaving in, what police believe, a late model white Holden sedan.
The victim received minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment.
Torquay Crime Investigation Unit appealed to anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
