JAN JUC junior Xavier Huxtable underlined his potential by almost taking a clean sweep of the Rip Curl Gromsearch surfing series this week.
Competing in the 12 and under boys division on his home beach, Huxtable posted three of the top four heat totals, consistently scoring over 16.
Continuing his domination of Australian junior surfing, he also scored three of the best four waves.
“There were a lot of closeouts but if you waited there were some fun rights and lefts coming through at Main Peak,” an elated Huxtable said.
“When you surf here every day you can tell which peel well and where to sit. It definitely gave me a confidence boost coming into the comp.”
Another pair of Jan Juc juniors fought out the girls 12 and under division with Bella Wilson beating out Jazz Wylie.
There are four more events in the series before the juniors compete in the national final at North Narrabeen, New South Wales in January.
