AS any weekend hacker will testify, 18 holes of golf can be the world’s most-frustrating pastime.
Try 100 holes – in one day.
Community services agency Karingal hopes Geelong’s fit and keen golfers can use the sport’s in-built frustration to their advantage by raising thousands of dollars.
Eight players proved it could be done last year, raising $30,000 in the process – but they want company.
The rules forbid assistance in trekking to each hole, so 13th Beach Golf Links’ buggies will remain parked.
Geelong businessman Brett Morrissy and his herd of hackers last year reached the minimum 100 holes inside 15 hours after walking 60 kilometres and playing an average of 480 shots each.
The 100 Hole Hike will help Karingal build and staff a clubhouse for patients with acquired brain injuries and their families.
Karingal said registrations for the January event are available by emailing lindalf@karingal.org.au.
