Tracky dack up for the kids

GEELONG residents can draw upon their inner bogan and get comfy in tracky dacks at a unique fundraiser on Tuesday night.

Grovedale’s Fiona Lucas has organised Tracky Dack Day to raise funds for for TLC for kids, Australia’s only emergency response support for distressed kids in hospital and their families.

TLC for kids was founded by Tim Conolan, recently named Australia’s Local Hero 2014 at the Australian of the Year Awards.

“I got involved because I had the chance to meet Tim and he is just so inspiring and passionate,” Fiona said.

“I just wanted the opportunity to give him some support back so I put out a call to local businesses to get on board and do a tracky dack night at Bended.

“Local talent, Alistair Turrell, Rach Brennan and Famous Will have donated their times to entertain and there’s catering by the Rock Salt Food Company.

“Businesses have provided lots of prizes and it’s only $20, all of which goes to TLC for Kids.

“It’s just a fun night and you don’t have to wear your tracky dacks if you don’t want to,” Fiona laughed.
