A Lismore man who threatened to kill friends, neighbours and police plans to move to Geelong, a court heard this week.
Forty-six-year-old Thomas Kenyon sat subdued in the dock of Geelong’s Magistrate Court on 35 charges including threats to kill, assaulting police and stalking.
Police prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Kerrie Moroney told the court Kenyon verbally abused a neighbour over three months and drove a car at the man while threatening to kill him.
Kenyon later allegedly resisted arrest, telling police “I’ll make you sorry”.
He injured an officer’s face after throwing an object through a window and told another policeman he would “put a bullet in his head”, Snr Const Moroney said.
The court heard Kenyon later threw a burning piece of wood at a friend’s car after becoming abusive when the owner accidentally sounded the horn while repairing the vehicle.
Sen Const Moroney said the following month police saw Kenyon driving in Norlane in an unregistered vehicle but he refused to stop.
Kenyon drove on the wrong side of Melbourne Road and Station Street during the pursuit.
Kenyon’s lawyer said his client suffered paranoia from “regular and excessive” consumption of alcohol and cannabis and had failed to maintain his medication for depression.
“We have here a man who’s lost the plot,” his lawyer told the court.
“He has a very coherent plan about what he will do when released from custody. He intends to buy a property in Norlane across from his father’s home.”
Magistrate Stephen Myall told the court he would “sleep on” his decision.
