A “severe” bashing left a 32yearold man in Geelong Hospital with facial injuries, police said yesterday.
Sergeant Robert Sodomaco said the man had no recollection of the attack.
He remembered leaving Carlton Hotel at 7.30pm Wednesday after drinking to catch a train home to Colac. Passersby discovered him two hours later unconscious at Belmont.
“We don’t know whether the attack happened in Geelong or Belmont or how many attackers there were,” Sgt Sodomaco said.
