Lyons the scruff meets up with Oliver …

MAYOR Darryn Lyons has been tackled online for his scruffy appearance while meeting celebrity chef Jamie Oliver in Geelong this week.

“Been flat out guys! Haven’t had time to get to the hairdressers!” Cr Lyons posted on Facebook along with a snapshot of him shaking hands with  a bemused-looking Naked Chef Oliver.

His Facebook followers quizzed whether he’d just jumped out of bed, slept at the airport or been celebrating after a cricket finals win.

“Mr Mayor isn’t at his finest as sadly it does look like he just got out of bed, mohawk ruffled not quite right and unshaven. Apologies if he’s growing a beard,” said one.

” Not a good look Darren,” said another.

” … no suit & tie, didn’t comb his hair, hahaha,” another with quipped.

Cr Lyons, usually resplendent in colourful suit and tie, appeared windblown with his trademark mohawk slightly deranged and awry. He wore a T-shirt and  fluffy brown jacket and was unshaven.

Oliver was in town to host a cooking class at his Geelong Ministry of Fo0d Centre.
