VicRoads will close a section of Barwon Heads Road between 7am and 9am this Saturday for the Cadel Evans People’s Ride.
The 2500-cyclist People’s Ride, which is part of the two-day event, will travel southward along the road.
With roadworks continuing in the Warralily Estate, the Barwon Heads Road reserve is narrow in both directions with no shoulders on the road.
Barwon Heads Road will be closed between Boundary Road and Warralily Boulevard.
Traffic heading from Geelong to Barwon Heads will be rerouted onto Boundary Road, around Horseshoe Bend Road, to continue on Barwon Heads Road via Lower Duneed Road.
Temporary LED variable message signs will be in place before and during the event to advise motorists of the detour.
