Lanza songs bring sunshine

Australian tenor Roy Best will bring legendary singer Mario Lanza back to life as Musical Mornings returns to Geelong next month.
Best will commemorate one of great tenors of the century with hits including Be My Love, Because You’re Mine, ’O Sole Mio, You’ll Never Walk Alone, Granada and more.
The production will star international soprano Alison Jones accompanied by Len Forster on piano.
Chris McKenna will narrate the fascinating life story of Mario Lanza who died at the tragically young age of 38 in 1958.
Lanza Sings Again will play twice at the Geelong Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) on 8 and 9 February, kicking off its season of Musical Mornings.
The season will continue in March with Silvie Paladino returning to The Playhouse stage.
In April, it’s Magical Moments will be the Music of Burt Bacharach with 22 songs from the composer’s massive swag of hits.
Ian Stenlake will return in May with a new show featuring some of his favourite musical hits.
In June’s season finale Philip Gould will lead a talented cast in Great Composers of London’s West End, “a feast for musical theatre lovers” promoters said.
