Four artists from the Geelong region are vying for a $30,000 pay day in the region’s premier art prize.
Geelong Gallery has revealed Vicki Clissold, Dick Collis, Peter Hill and Felicity Spear among the 44 artists in the running for the gallery’s biennial acquisitive awards for contemporary art.
The gallery said the entrants’ 42 works would go on exhibition after the winner was announced on 29 August.
The gallery received “hundreds of entries from around the country”, it said.
“This year’s exhibition will include paintings by some of the nation’s most talented established and younger-generation artists working in a variety of subject matter and styles.”
