SOME of Geelong’s best young baseballers will fly overseas next month for world-class experience, according to organisers.
East Geelong’s Sam Morrison and Whittington’s Brock Wells, both 11, will join seven other young players from the city to play with teams in either Los Angeles, San Francisco or Japan.
Brock admitted he was “sort of nervous”.
“I get to meet other people and play a lot,” he said.
Brock’s mother, Maryanne Wells, said the trip would be her son’s first time overseas.
“I think we’re both nervous for each other,” she laughed.
Sam’s mother, Nikki Morrison, said her son had made the San Francisco team.
“I think he feels quite confident going over,” she said.
Guild Team event coordinator Meryl Whiteside said the boys tried out against teams from New South Wales and Japan to earn their places.
