‘I want to watch’, salons told. Man called for girl’s Brazilian

A Clifton Springs man requested Brazilian waxing and raunchy outfits for a fictitious 13-year-old in phone calls his lawyer described as “creepy and salacious”.
Troy Bardelmeyer, 35, of Central Ave, pleaded guilty in Geelong Magistrates’ Court to 17 charges of using a carriage service to offend.
Police Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Jacki Davis read a lengthy summary of concerning phone calls Bardelmeyer made to numerous Geelong businesses between August 2010 and April 2011.
Bardelmeyer made numerous phone calls to beauty salons in Drysdale, East Geelong, Belmont, Hamlyn Heights, Manifold Heights, Corio, Geelong West and Ocean Grove requesting a Brazilian wax for his “13-year-old daughter”.
“He told staff he normally shaved his 13-year-old daughter’s pubic hair but wanted to book her in for a Brazilian wax. He wanted to stand in the room and watch,” Snr Const Davis said.
Various staff told police Bardelmeyer made sexually explicit comments during the calls.
Bardelmeyer also made numerous calls to clothing, lingerie and sex shops at Torquay, Geelong, Ocean Grove, Corio and North Geelong enquiring about sexually suggestive clothing for a “13-year-old employee” or “girlfriend”.
“He said he was hiring a 13-year-old employee who was well-endowed and he wanted some short shorts and crop tops to show off her assets,” Snr Const Davis said.
The court heard Bardelmeyer held relevant prior convictions but police found no evidence of “further offending”.
Bardelmeyer’s defence told the court his client’s behaviour was “appalling”.
“At the very least it is creepy and salacious and he concedes that’s the situation.”
Magistrate Ron Saines said a prison sentence was inappropriate because Bardelmeyer’s offences appeared to relate only “to matters of personal fantasy”.
“The recipients of the phone calls would have felt revolted in many ways.”
Mr Saines adjourned the case until after the Independent went to press.
