Baby Texan fits Krieg family tradition to a T

MEET little Texan Gamble, member of an illustrious T-Team – and perhaps better named TGK-17/4.
Young Texan, delivered by caesarean section to mum Shell and Tim Krieg at Geelong’s St John of God Hospital this week, is a miracle baby.
Shell thought that after three kids by previous caesars, four miscarriages, three operations and two rounds of fertility treatment she was out of the motherhood stakes.
Conceiving and producing young Texan was the very gamble he was named for – but he’s proved a winner for the Kriegs.
He’s also proved an alphabetical anomaly: one of five males in the family whose first name starts with T. All share a G in their second name as well.
There’s Tim Gordon, Tyron Gordon, Tayton George and Tazman Giles – and now Texan Gamble Krieg. Hence the TGK.
“The T thing just kind of happened. We wanted names that were a bit different,’’ Shell explained.
“The Gs are a family thing – Tim’s dad, my dad, ma and pa’s surname.
“Texan struggled a bit. We didn’t think he was going to happen.
“We’re so blessed, so lucky. I didn’t know whether I could have any more.’’
With the guidance of obstretrician Dr Brian McCully and staff, however, the T-Team is now complete.
“This is it,” said 35-year-old Shell.
So why TGK-17/4?
That’s one more little oddity. All four of the young Krieg boys were born on the 17th day of their respective birth months.
Go figure.
