Man injured in shotgun attack

A robber butt stroked a man who had pulled over to eat fast food during an armed robbery at Waurn Ponds this morning.
Two men had just purchased food from a nearby outlet and parked on the side of Thornhill Drive to eat, Victoria Police spokesman Chris Metevelis said.
About 1am, two men, one armed with a sawn-off shotgun, approached them demanding drugs and money.
One of them struck the victim in the face with the butt of the shotgun, police alleged.
Paramedics took the man to hospital where he received treatment for non-life threatening facial injuries.
Police said the first attacker was about 180cm tall, of solid build and wearing a balaclava.
They described the other man as 185cm tall and wearing a grey top.
Investigators said the attackers drove a light-coloured 4WD with lights on the roof of the vehicle.
They urged witnesses to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
