The victim of an alleged bashing and stabbing who was pulled from his own burning house last Thursday night has died in hospital.
The 79-year-old man died in hospital following the fire in Bunganowee Drive Clifton Springs.
A 45-year-old man has been charged with arson, aggravated burglary, conduct endangering life, recklessly cause serious injury and assault with a weapon.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Police said they were awaiting the results of a post mortem while the investigation continued.
Geelong Indy earlier reported the man was pulled from the house fire in a critical condition.
