A $307 MILLION wish list from the Geelong region has landed on the desks of Australia’s major political parties as they slug it out toward next month’s federal election.
G21, an alliance organisation representing the region’s five councils, said its list of 10 funding priorities would help “improve the lives of people in the Geelong region”.
Top of the list was $195 million to duplicate the Princes Highway from Winchelsea to Colac, which has already earned a commitment from the Liberals.
G21 also sought $60 million for redevelopment of Geelong’s cultural precinct and $36 million to upgrade Skilled Stadium.
Projects on the list but without funding requirements included approval of an international terminal at Avalon Airport.
