CHRISTMAS is beginning to spread through shop windows in central Geelong.
Myer unveiled its Geelong-first Christmas windows last Friday, while smaller retailers are also adding the spirit of the season to their shopfronts.
The decoration arrives as the Independent and Central Geelong Marketing this week kick off their Christmas windows competition.
The Independent will post on its Facebook page pictures of decorated windows each week in the lead-up to Christmas.
The window with the most ‘likes’ each week at facebook.com/GeelongIndependent will win a $1000 advertising package from the Independent.
The competition will conclude before Christmas when Mayor Darryn Lyons announces his choice of the overall winner of the Independent’s $2500 advertising package.
Central Geelong shops can alert the Independent to their Christmas windows by emailing editorial@geelongindependent or send window pictures to the same address.
