Man dies after Norlane house fire

A 49-YEAR-OLD Norlane man has passed away at  The Alfred hospital following a house fire at Norlane last night.

Emergency services were called to the Thomson Road house about 11pm.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and located the man inside the house.

He was airlifted to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, however, at this early stage, the blaze is not being treated as suspicious.

Fire investigators and an arson chemist were set to examine the scene this morning.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
