The “magnificent paintings” of a south-west Victorian artist who goes to polar extremes for his subjects will go on display in Geelong, according to the gallery hosting the exhibition.
Brett Jarrett’s Pole to Pole would feature more than 30 works centring on marine mammals and birds in destinations from Antarctica to Northern Lapland, said the art@wintergarden gallery.
“Brett’s oil paintings express his lifelong passion, creating enduring works sympathetic to the animals’ environment,” the gallery said.
“It is this acquired knowledge (that) sees his work sought after by authors globally for wildlife publications.”
The gallery said it would host the exhibition throughout August.
