Colac police plea over missing war medals

COLAC CIU detectives are appealing for information from the public after a spate of burglaries in Colac. 

Thieves have targeted residential properties in Ligar Street, Batson Crescent, Darrant Street and Armstrong Street and have stolen jewellery and electrical goods over the past two months. 

Thieves stole irreplaceable war medals belonging to a man and his father at a burglary in Batson Crescent. 

The medals are from both World War I and II with one issued by the Malaya government following the Malaya campaign. 

Other items stolen include wedding rings, gold necklaces, watches and pearl brooches. 

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about any of the burglaries to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au
