POLICE have released an image of a man they believe can “assist their investigations” into a burglary at Corio Shopping Centre.
Police believe that the man hid in the Bacchus Marsh Road shopping centre until the 9pm closing time on May 8 before breaking into two shops.
Police said the man had apparently gained entry to the shops through their ceilings.
The man allegedly stole a quantity of cash and a leather jacket before exiting the shopping centre around 11pm.
Police refused to reveal how much money was stolen.
Police believe the alleged thief used the shopping centre’s roof to make his getaway.
Police did not say whether they believed the man was a Geelong resident or from outside the city.
Police urged anyone who recognised the man in the released image or who had information about the burglaries to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
