Barista reviver

“Free barista coffees” will be available to Geelong motorists travelling around regional Victoria over the long weekend, according to the city’s TAC headquarters.
The free coffees will be handed out as the TAC resumes its Driver Reviver Pit Stop initiative to prevent fatigue-related crashes.
The TAC said its Pit Stops would offer motorists a “VIP rest stop experience, with free barista coffees, bottled water, luxury toiletries, family activities, competitions and giveaways”.
“Sausage sizzles will raise money to help local State Emergency Service units raise money for rescue equipment.”
Victorian Road Safety Minister Luke Donnellan said everyone deserved to return from the Anzac Day long weekend safely.
“Long weekends are a time when people often find themselves driving longer distances than they’re accustomed to, on roads less familiar to them and, when you bring fatigue into the equation, it can be a tragic mix,“ he said.
“We’ve introduced Driver Reviver Pit Stops to encourage drivers to stop and freshen up because drowsiness is deadly and we can’t accept a single life lost on our roads.“
Thousands of motorists utilised the TAC pit stops over Easter, with baristas providing more than 4000 free coffees.
Pit Stop was developed in the weeks leading up to Easter in response to Victoria’s worst start for lives lost on the roads in 10 years. An estimated one-in-five fatal crashes involves fatigue.
