Go west this Sunday, say festival organisers

By NOEL MURPHY

ICE CREAMS, kids, pets and parks – they’re just part of the rich recipe for fun cooked for this weekend’s WestFEST.
Geelong West Neighbourhood House will stage its free community arts festival in West Park with musical acts, all kinds of food from French to Tibetan and everything in between, loads of kids’ activities, organic gardeners, treats for pooches and more.
Other entertainment will include jazz musician Andy Pobjoy, while a range of stalls will also be on hand.
Organisers advised WestFEST patrons to bring picnic blankets, sunscreen, water bottles and chairs to settle in with family and friends.
Pobjoy will serenade people taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave, Logie winner Libby Tanner will shave Lainey Carr, one of Victoria’s top fundraisers for the leukaemia Foundation event.
WestFEST will run from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday in the park, at the corner of Pakington and Autumn streets.
