WITH her nephew now thankfully in remission from blood cancer, Dot Laidlaw had a close shave of her own this week.
The Geelong Cats employee put her signature spiky locks on the line to raise money for the World’s Greatest Shave.
Cats skipper Joel Selwood did the honours outside Simonds Stadium, leaving Dot with a crew cut for the Leukaemia Foundation’s annual fundraiser.
The foundation praised Dot’s shave, noting the she knew “first-hand how devastating a blood cancer ban be for a family”.
The public shaves continue when two-time Logie-winning actress Libby Tanner goes to work on the hair of Lainey Carr at Geelong West’s WestFEST from 4.30pm Sunday.
The foundation said Lainey had raised over $16,000 with her shave.
