Geelong Academy of Performing Arts

GAPA is renowned for its outstanding Dance and Musical Theatre.
Located within the popular Arts precinct of Geelong, GAPA strives to promote spirit and opportunities to dancers, aspiring actors and singers.
They believe that a dream is the foundation of all success and GAPA’s goal is to provide a means to those dreams.
Dance
Dance helps develop children’s sense of musicality, rhythm, timing, grace, flexibility and strength.
Dancers develop poise, confidence and will always have fond memories of their friends and time spent at GAPA.
Classes offered include: Theatrical with a strong focus on cabaret/show performances inclusive of jazz, modern and theatrical, tap, contemporary, basic acting and technique.
GAPA also has designated hip hop, tap and acro dance classes. Classes cater for children aged 4 years through to adult.
Musical Theatre
Children love acting, singing and dancing. There is a magical connection between young performers and musical theatre.
GAPA’s exciting and challenging musical theatre tuition caters for children aged 5-16.
Through acting, students develop skills in listening, speaking, taking turns and co-operation through playful and engaging activities.
They sing and learn about the voice and how it works, how to stand, how to breathe, how to sing in tune and how to develop the confidence to expand the vocal range and increase the power of the voice.
Students improve posture, balance and co-ordination through dance while developing confidence and the ability to work within a team.
Learning at GAPA is educational, rewarding, and most of all fun!
Teachers are pleased to share their knowledge, ideas, and love of acting, singing, dancing and performing with students. Come along and trial a class.
GAPA studios are located at level 1/37 Gheringhap Street Geelong.
For more information on classes visit www.gapa.net.au or to arrange a private inspection of GAPA’s studios and theatre, phone Michael Ward on 5222 8533.
