Laughs on Kate in new GC mag

By Editorial

LIFE’S a laugh for funny girl Kate McLennan.
The Belmont-raised comedian has forged a sparkling career on stage and screen with a rare talent for creating oddball characters.
However, her world came crashing down after a dramatic 2010 break-up, she tells the latest edition of Geelong Coast magazine (GC).
The split sent her back home heartbroken to mum and dad in Belmont, her career seemingly in tatters.
She laughs about it now.
“The day after I moved into mum and dad’s my mum and sister decided it was a great idea to take me to a bridal expo.”
Kate tells GC her family provided the inspiration for a wealth of new material.
Then came new characters, new opportunities – and a new love.
Out from Monday at all good local newsagents, the latest edition of GC is packed with stories and images of local people, places, issues and ideas.
Women flying high, Sophia Hewson’s edgy art, the music of The Murlocs – all this and more among the sleek glossy pages of the new GC.
