Police arrested and charged a man after he allegedly attempted to evade them on several occasions between Geelong and Bacchus Marsh on Thursday 18 August.
Geelong Highway Patrol charged a 24-year-old Corio man with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, and multiple traffic offences.
The charges follow multiple incidents where police observed an allegedly stolen vehicle driving erratically between 5.15pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday between Geelong and Bacchus Marsh.
Police did not initiate a pursuit due to concerns for public safety and the availability of the Police Air Wing.
The police helicopter eventually tracked the vehicle to Glenmore Road, Rowsley, where the vehicle collided with a fence.
Geelong Highway Patrol members arrested the man in a nearby property after he attempted to flee the scene.
He has been remanded in custody to face court at a later date.
