Punters to saddle up for charity race day

GEELONG’S business and racing fraternities will jockey for position at a 2011 Give Where You Live race day next week.
Both fillies and stallions will be silked up to compete for fashion prizes as the charity race day raises funds for people suffering health, income or educational disadvantages.
Kevin Paisley Fashion Eyewear has saddled up again as race day sponsor as the event ushers in the spring racing season.
Give Where You Live events manager Jamie Harcourt said racing guru Rob Gaylard would be on hand to assist punters with their investments.
She said a live auction and raffle would be worth a flutter as well, with a 2011 signed Geelong Cats jumper, fine dining vouchers, pamper packs and a holiday up for grabs.
Organisers expected more than 300 racegoers to raise $30,000 on the day at Geelong Racing Club next Friday.
Ms Harcourt said ticket bookings were available by phoning 5229 4364 or emailing events@givewhereyoulive.com.au.
Formerly United Way Geelong, Give Where You Live provides financial support to more than 70 human welfare agencies in the region.
