PRIME Minister Tony Abbott met up with Geelong mayor Darryn Lyons and a Geelong delegation today at Canberra to discuss operations at Avalon, including Jetstar’s tenancy, and other priority projects for the region such as the defence contract Land 400, the national broadband roll-out and the Great Ocean Road.
“It’s been a very successful trip,”: Cr Lyons said.
“In fact, when I entered the house yesterday, the whole front bench stood up and waved to me.
“It might be the hair but photographer Mike Bowers said he’d never seen that before — Geelong is obviously very much on the radar in Canberra.”
