Cookbook prize at Lara festival

Patrons of this month’s Lara Food and Wine Festival can win a copy of celebrity chef Gabriel Gate’s new cookbook.
Simply SMS the word ‘Lara’ to 19 19 18 to go into the random draw for one of three copies of Recipes for a Great Life, to be presented during the festival on February 28.
Winners will be notified by SMS at midday to collect their prize from Mr Gate and celebrity festival host Catriona Rowntree immediately at the festival’s main stage.
The Independent’s managing editor, Tony Galpin, urged anyone planning on attending to enter the novel competition.
“We usually say ‘You have to be in it to win it’. Well, this time you have to be at the festival as well,” Mr Galpin said.
“It will be a lot of fun when winners in the crowd receive the return SMS at the height of the festival and go up to the stage to receive their books.”
Entry to the Independent’s SMS competition service, provided by SL Interactive, costs 55 cents.
Lara Food and Wine Festival will feature a range of stalls, demonstrations and entertainment from 10am to 4pm at historic Pirra Homestead, on Windemere road.
The Independent is a sponsor of the festival.
