WANTED: An image of a man police want to question over an alleged toilet block sex assault.

A man has apologised to his “victim” after a sexual assault in a Newtown toilet block, police have alleged.
Police released an image of the middle-aged suspect this week with a call for public assistance to catch him.
The man allegedly approached his victim at public toilets between Queens Park’s golf course and reserve about 7pm on Boxing Day, police posted on Facebook.
“The victim has entered a cubical before being approached by a male (who) was loitering in the toilets,” police said.
“The male offender approached the victim and has indecently assaulted the victim.
“The offender has apologised before leaving the toilet block.”
Police described the man as aged 40 to 50 and with “red/grey” hair.
The police post did not identify the sex of the alleged victim.
Police asked anyone with information to phone Detective Senior Constable Wes Martin of Geelong’s Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team on 5223 7222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
