AN international touring exhibition of the finest wildlife photographs in the world has gone on display at Geelong’s National Wool Museum.
Geelong is the only city in the state to showcase The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, which has been displayed in six continents.
Museum senior curator Michelle Smith said the stunning exhibition featured the winners from almost 42,000 entries and 96 countries.
“It’s the best of the best and we’re getting to see it first in Australia,’’ Ms Smith said.
The exhibition runs until 1 March.
Organisers integrated a local competition with the international exhibition. Ocean Grove’s Danielle Bamforth won first prize in the Geelong by Nature photographic competition with a picture of two sulphur-crested cockatoos peeping out from a recess in a tree.
Ms Bamforth took the photograph at Geelong’s Balyang Sanctuary.
