HUMAN remains were found in a burnt out caravan at a camping ground in Glenaire, near Apollo Bay last night.
Fellow campers alerted emergency services after they noticed the caravan on fire just before 6pm.
Three Country Fire Authority units extinguished the flames and discovered the remains in the rear section of the caravan.
The caravan was still hitched up to a vehicle when the fire started.
An arson chemist will attend the scene in the morning to ascertain the cause of the fire although it is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
Police are still to formally identify the body.
