Maree Pigdon's sewing school provides sewing classes for students aged eight to 88.

Maree Pigdon Sewing School was adjudged winner in the Best First Year category at the
Powercor Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

The sewing school business provides sewing classes, sewing lessons, courses, creative workshops and expert sewing tuition to students aged from eight to 88.
The sewing classes are delivered in person in the school with morning, afternoon, evening and weekend courses covering beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
The online sewing courses are sold via video tutorials and digital patterns which service the expansive global customer base across 12 countries.
The owner is proud that the business is a national multi-award winning sewing school built on 48 years of sewing, design, dressmaking and teaching experience.
The vision is to continue expanding the student base and global reach, and to employ more teachers.
The plan is to offer 12 additional weekly classes which will double the student base and allow the school to offer more classes presented by current teachers and hire up to eight new teachers.
It is also hoped to increase the number of online sales and launch an additional digital product monthly.
The point of difference to the business is that the sewing studio is fully equipped with all students’ needs, sewing machines are provided and haberdashery is available for purchase.
The school teaches fashion design, how to fit garments to unique body shapes and there are a maximum of seven students per class.
