TWO students and a teacher from Geelong’s The Gordon have won national awards for hair and beauty.
The trio received their prizes last week at an annual Hair and Beauty Industry Association Awards in Melbourne.
Shelley Platt won stage one apprentice of the year for hairdressing, Sally Aganetti earned best diploma for a specialised make-up student and Kristen Grasso was named educator of the year in hairdressing.
Each of the trio won their awards after undergoing an entry process involving a written submissions and a panel interview about the skill, knowledge and achievements within their fields.
The Gordon said the awards demonstrated that Geelong was developing a “first-rate reputation in the hair and beauty industry as the place to study”.
