West End veteran Philip Gould returns to Geelong next week with a tribute to Frank Sinatra and the many women in his life.
Frankly Sinatra tells the fascinating life story of Ol’ Blue Eyes through music, narration and images.
Fellow music theatre stalwarts Michelle Fitzmaurice and Michael Cormick join Gould to sing and dance their way through 22 hit songs like My Way, Fly Me to the Moon and High Hopes.
The show will also features hits from the women in Frank’s life, including Nancy Sinatra, Liza Minelli and Judy Garland.
Frankly Sinatra comes to Geelong Performing Arts Centre for two performances at The Playhouse, on 23 and 24 May at 10.30am.
Then in June it’s time to head Downtown with the songs of Petula Clark.
Melissa Langton performs the toe-tapping songs of Clark, who during the height of Beatlemania battled the fab four for number one on the charts- and came out on top.
In the swinging ’60s Petula repeatedly topped the charts with hits like Colour My World, I Know a Place, My Love and, of course, Downtown.
Langton, a member of the globe-trotting ’60s and ’70s tribute act The Fabulous Singlettes, tells the story of one of Britain’s most cherished entertainers though her hit singles.
Downtown – The Songs of Petula Clark comes to The Playhouse on 13 and 14 June.
