A 27-YEAR-OLD Portarlington man has struck a sour note with police after he was intercepted on the Westgate Freeway last week.
Hobson’s Bay Highway Patrol officers received numerous calls regarding a black Toyota sedan driving erratically towards the city about 12.20pm on Friday.
Officers located the vehicle and pulled alongside to observe the driver.
To their shock, the Portarlington man was playing a trumpet as he drove over the Westgate Bridge.
Police intercepted the car and issued the driver with a $354 fine for careless driving.
Highway Patrol officers would like to thank the members of the public who reported the incident as they believe they stopped a potential accident.
