A large 12-wheeled crane truck was reversing out from the manicured gardens near the Waterfront skate park the other morning.
The recent rain left the soft soil in no position to cope with the weight of the truck or the size of its wheels, leaving a hapless council worker to clean up the mess.

The level of publicity that Geelong Mayor Darryn Lyons is attracting from Twitter has gone to his head – literally.
This week he dyed the social media giant’s logo beside his Mohawk for an appearance in the company’s Discover Your World promotion.
“I’m honoured to be recognised as one of Twitter’s must influential Australian users,” he declared.
Some were impressed.
“The mayor with the best hair. Keep up the great work, Darryn,” commented reader Sam below the Independent’s online story about the logo.
Less inspired were others, such as Peter Mobbs who repeated the mayor’s comment on the Indy’s Facebook page with a single-word response.
