Buckets and bouquets

BUCKETS to parents who can’t or just won’t keep their children under control, whether in a shopping complex or an entertainment venue. Not only is it annoying for others, it can be a serious safety issue in car parks. Lazy parent, control your kids.
Thankful Holidays Are Over, Waurn Ponds

BOUQUETS to French café Canape for its hospitality and great food. All the food was made on-site, even the bread rolls, cakes and chocolate. It was worth driving from Leopold for such a great experience.
Ex-Hospitality Provider, Leopold

BOUQUETS to a Grubb Rd land owner who takes the time to place cut-out animals in his paddock. I look out for any new additions and their placements every time I drive past. It’s a small gesture that makes me smile.
Makes My Day, Ocean Grove

BOUQUETS to Brendan, of Flys R Us, for replacing a security door he installed 18 months earlier. It contained a bad batch of grilled mesh. Rather than fix it, Brendan removed the old door and made a new one. I highly recommend his fabulous service.
Byron, Grovedale

BUCKETS to a newspaper and the many Geelong Cats fans who slandered Hawthorn Football Club over comments supposedly made to Mitch Clark but which apparently were never said. The Geelong fans showed their true colours with their nasty comments.
Richard, Bell Park

BOUQUETS to anyone who can tell me whether Sue Kelly has returned home or even how she is getting on. Sue left Geelong several years ago to live overseas.
Graeme Stuart, Bell Park

BUCKETS to Going Going Gone and Already Gone (Buckets & Bouquets, 3 and 10 April). In my experience, the failure to sell a property often has more to do with the vendor’s unrealistic expectations than the agent’s ability or endeavour. Do your homework and listen to your agent.
Former Agent, Geelong West

BUCKETS to Vince (Buckets & Bouquets, 17 April). Fixing Geelong’s CBD is clearly the community’s number-one priority. Don’t start whingeing now that the council is finally doing something about it. As a Highton resident, you’re doing pretty well already. Give a little credit where it’s due.
Fix Whingers, East Geelong
