GREEN beer and velvet Guinness libations are taking pride of place and taste at the Elephant and Castle Hotel today as Geelong’s Irish population celebrates the Emerald Isle patron saint’s feast day.
St Patrick’s Day, March 17, means all things Hibernian — music, clothes, accents, Irish jigs and reels, whiskey, haunting airs, lilting and, naturally, lashings of the Blarney.
Jackie Paige-Sanders and Thomas Villanti were right in the thick of things — all green plaits, shirts, hats with, of course, a wee drop of the crater to celebrate the green-letter feast day.
